Pai (Thai: ปาย)

Pai was once a quiet market village inhabited by Shan people but nowadays Pai primarily thrives on tourism. Well-known among backpackers for its relaxed atmosphere, the town is full of cheap guesthouses, souvenir shops and restaurants. In the proximity of the town are spas and elephant camps. Further outside of town, there are several waterfalls and a number of natural hot springs varying in temperature from 80 to 200 degrees Celsius. Some resorts tap the hot springs and feed hot water into private bungalows and public pools. As Pai lies at the foot of the mountains, many tourists use it as a base for trekking and visiting hill tribes like Karen, Hmong, Lisu and Lahu. Another notable attraction is the town's excellent Wednesday Market which brings large and colorful crowds of local villagers and tribal people from all around the Pai Valley.

Pai is a small community, embraced by rolling mountains and enveloped in natural setting that is fresh and beautiful. The atmosphere is clean, pure, quiet and warmly welcoming. The different ethnic groups, religious beliefs and languages of the people of plains and the people of the mountains have blended together here to form a unique set of cultural traditions.

The citizens of Pai live their lives with a spirit of generosity and a sense of community, always ready to give someone a helping hand. Yet at the same time, the remoteness of the region makes travel to and from Pai difficult. Many people would rather not come and risk their chances in such an isolated place. However, many other people entrust their luck to fate in this very spot, and others dream of having just one chance in their lives to come and experience the summit of the north of Thailand.

The bus will take you to Donsak or another pier at the coastline of the Surat Thani province. You can buy the ferry ticket at these piers, if you haven't purchased it already.
Train
The train departs from Hualampong Railway Station in Bangkok. Buy the tickets in any travel agency in the capital city, or directly at the railway station. There are both 1th class private sleeping cars (two persons) and 2nd class coaches and "public" sleeping cars.

Your final destination (but not the trains') is the town of Suratthani. From there you will have to take a bus, minivan or taxi to the piers in Donsak. You are able to buy the ferry ticket at these piers.

Koh Samui's busiest and biggest town has sprung up around one of the island's best beaches. As well as offering more accommodation options than elsewhere on the island, Chaweng is also nightlife central with bars and restaurants catering to every taste.
From beachside institutions to sophisticated cocktail bars, Chaweng's nightlife is streets ahead of anywhere else on Samui in terms of choice.
The famous Green Mango strip still forms the axis around which the rest of the town's bars revolve and is packed with (mostly) young revellers every night, alternating between the pubs, dance bars and girly bars. Chaweng's main strip is nearly three kilometres long though, and lots of smaller centres of activity have sprung up along it. McDonalds' forms a landmark in the south of town just across the road from Chaweng's single most popular bar, Tropical Murphy's Irish pub.

Muay Thai Boxing

After having received a lot of requests from Muay Thai instructors from everywhere in the world, we decided to start a course for instructors that can finally show at all the instructors the right way of working with the athletes.

The course thematics are going from the basic notions until that ones that the professional need.

Various times going around in the world i saw instructors in the corner of the own athletes, able only to say: "Come on, come on! ". This should never happen, such instructors lose quickly the confidence of the athletes.

Exactly for this and 100 more reasons  we decided to start this course for Muay Thai instructors.

The course will be in our camp in Pattaya.

There will be the possibility of bring the applicant instructors in the stadium, to let them stay in the corner of our athletes and also to value from outside other matches and according to their valuations and their work they will be judged.

In short, a Muay Thai instructors course that will give a complete preparation and will give the ability to the instructor to follow his athletes from the dilettantism till the top levels of the professionals.
Moreover being Pattaya very close to Bangkok (150 km.) on the Saturdays and Sundays we have the possibility of organize journeys to see Thai Boxing Matches in the more famous stadiums of the capital and therefore of all Thailand.

Lumpini and Rajadamnern are anyway the more valued goals.

And don't forget the opportunity that we have, and not everybody, of can bring athletes to fight in these wonderful stadium that are the Lumpini and the Rajadamnern of Bangkok.

Koh Tapao Yai

Koh Tapao Yai is the larger twin of Koh Tapao Noi. Koh Tapao Yai is actually home to a couple of hotels, although they aren’t especially big or plush. The attraction of the rare hornbill birds on Koh Tapao Noi is also a draw of Koh Tapao Yai.
Koh Tapao Yai is very popular for its beaches, which are much larger and expansive than those found on Koh Tapao Noi.
The beaches are so popular, in fact, that they’ve actually become a problem as irresponsible tourists, snorkellers and divers have been destroying the natural reef structures surround the island.
As eco-friendly tourism has begun taking the world by storm, especially in areas that support endangered and rare species of animals, tourists have begun to be more responsible in most places, although not always in and around Phuket.

Although Koh Tapao Yai was once home to nothing more than a small fishermen’s village, it has begun to grow into something of an exclusive resort-type island that is most assuredly tourist-friendly. For a long time, there was only one small bungalow available on the island, but the whole island is slowly expanding into a major destination.

Ao Phang-Nga (Phang-Nga Bay) NationalPark

Ao Phang-Nga (Phang-Nga Bay) NationalPark   was declared a national park on April 29, 1981.  It lies in the districts of Phang-Nga Town and Takua Thung and the total area is 250,000 rai (1 rai = 1,600 sq. meters). Most visitors are intent on viewing Phang-Nga Bay's bizarre landscape, which includes more than 120 singularly strange looking islands. Therer are many places where boats can be rented to travel Phang-Nga Bay:
- Ta Dahn Soon Kahkorn Pier:  near Phang-Nga Bay Resort.  Boats from small to large including ones suitable for C tours may be rented.
- Surakoon (or Ka Sohm) Pier: lies in Takua Thung.  Here you will find long-tail boats seating about 6 persons each.
- The pier in the area of National Park :  has long-tails holding up to eight persons each.  It takes about three hours to view Phang-Nga Bay.  The best season is from December to April, but because of the calm seas that prevail year round in this waveless body of water, trips to Phang-Nga are an on-going activity.  Many companies in Phuket offer sight-seeing tours, and various modes of travel are possible: from long-tail boats, to sea canoes, to Chinese junks. Virtually all of them include lunch in the price of the tour.  Check with your travel agent for details. Those wishing to explore on their own can charter a boat and prices are negotiable:  If the first boatman you ask quotes a price outside of your budget, don't hesitate to ask another.
Places of interest within the National Park include:
Koh Panyee This small island has a picturesque village, which rests precariously on small pilings and extends out across the water.  It is inhabited chiefly by Muslim fisher folk, whose unique culture has existed, cut off from the mainland and most modern amenities, for more than a hundred years.  Souvenir shops and seafood restaurants cater to visitors.
Kao Ping-Gan The name means literally leaning mount.  It is really a huge rock split in two; the smaller half has slid down and the remaining one appears now to be leaning. Though Kao Ping-gan is a very small island, Kao Tapoo or James Bond Island, is in a little bay of Kao Ping-Gan where visiting boats pull up. Tapoo means nail, and this shoreless rock projects up from the sea as its name implies; flat and wide at the top, and very narrow at waterline.  It is a striking sight.  And the island became more famous after the James Bond adventure, The Man with the Golden Gun, was partly filmed here.
Tahm Lod  This cave in Takua thung has beautiful stalagmites and stalactites.  The long tail boat can go through another side of the cave.
Koh HonHong means room, and entering this hollowed out island by boat is much like floating through a giant reception hall with two doors.
Koh Khai   This pair of islands can be reached from Koh Sirey in Phuket in about 35 min.  Called Koh Khai Nok and Koh Khai Nai, the islands are known for their beautiful rocks, corals, and secluded beaches. Also of interest in Phang-Nga Bay National Park are the mangrove forests and swamps, cut by twisting channels, that line the mainland shores.
Koh Khien  The islet of writings is what the name means.  Indeed, there are ancient depictions of animals and boats which the Fine Arts Dept.  has dated back no less than 3,000 years.  Low on the mountain walls just above the tideline of this shoreless island, they were presumably drawn by voyagers long ago who took refuge there during storms.  The island lies on the way to Koh Panyee.

Koh Samui

Koh Samui is the star in the Gulf of Thailand. If you have had enough of Phuket, why not skip it and find out what Samui has, apart from coconut trees, January to may is the perfect time for visiting Samui as the monsoon is over, the sky is open and the white-long beaches welcome you to sunbathe all lay long.
There are few places in the world that equals Samui for its beaches its water, its tranquility, its wonderfully laid-back atmosphere. From the most popular Chaweng (what a shame, this beach is spoiled by jet skis) and Lamai to Bo Phut and Mae Nam plus many other beaches hidden in quiet bays.
Among these, Bo Phut has few to compare. Even when all the accommodation, which encompasses everything from the most basic of huts, all the way to small 3-4 star hotels, is full, the beach never is. The sand is perfect: not too coarse, not too fine. The sea is the ideal lazy swimmer's playground; swimming depth is reached within a couple of steps and it's as smooth as a millpond most of the time. In the evening there are just enough people, just enough bars to ensure you wouldn't have to leave the bay for couple of weeks, unless you want to explore. And the people who work there are the epitome of friendliness.
Of course, Samui is about much more than lying around on the beach. And there's much more than simple or budget accommodation. And there's enough nightlife in the biggest resort, Chaweng, to keep the most avid night owl occupied. Not bad for a simple 'coconut island'
If your budget is limited, or you just like something a little more informal, or you just like something a little more informal a little less grand? Samui has them too. With a few hundred baths for a good bungalow, you can relax all day doing nothing and nothing to worry about, even your pocket.
If all you want to do is relax in the kind of place that makes you happy, you need to know no more. But if, like most, you want to have a look around too, Samui is quite a surprise. For somewhere that's managed to remain almost totally unspoiled, there's load to do and see.
How you do it is up to you, but the best way is to get your own transport for at least part of your stay. That means renting a motorbike or a jeep, and sound advice is to steer well clear of the bikes. Samui's roads don't always make for the safest journey, even for experienced riders.
And a jeep doesn't have to cost a fortune if you look around Most hotels and bungalows can arrange one, and there are plenty of individual operators. If money doesn't matter, do it the easy way. If it does, shop around.
Where to go? Samui takes just about an hour to drive around, so everywhere is within easy reach, The whole central part of the island is hilly jungle, with some fairly impressive waterfalls. Get within reach of one of the trails; park the jeep and walk. Near Ban Thurian you'll find Namuang Waterfall, but it's commercialized. Namuang involves a bit of a walk through some gentle hills but is much more rewarding Then there's Hin Lad Waterfall in the east. More of a challenge but evens more rewarding.
On your drive round the island you'll come across the Butterfly Gardens, the Tropical Zoo a 3-headed coconut tree, the (in) famous monkey-work-coconut" sites, some surprisingly deserted beaches (between Mae Nam and Nathon) a Go-Kart racing track impressive wats and on and on. Don't try and do it all in a day. After all, Samui is all about relaxing.
One that you shouldn't miss is Hin Ta Hin Yai (grandpa rock and grandma rock) on Lamai Bay. A local story tells of and old couple whose ship was wrecked in the bay. Their bodies were washed ashore to create the strangely shaped rocks.
The evenings. No visit to Samui would be complete without at least one look at Chaweng. Restaurants, bars, drinking competitions all the standard stuff of swigging young resorts plus Thai Boxing. The latter's must, particularly if you haven't seen it before. If participation's more your style, you can put yourself forward to have a go against one of the local boxers.
Not bad for a sleepy coconut island. Samui is somewhere to go back to time and time again. It never disappoints. But please, If you want to play Jet Ski Chaweng's the place.

Mai Khao Beach

Mai Khao Beach is at the north west end of Phuket Island, stretched along the waterline for several km and behind are coconut plantation.
As you can see on the pictures here the beach is lined with coniferous trees which is nothing negative, the palms are a little bit more further. Actually most beaches in Phuket Island have pine trees behind the sand.
Its near to the airport and quite far to Patong and Phuket Town, both are over 30 km to the the south. Its a little bit isolated up there in the north. Why is the beach on Phuket Island a real exotic one? It's facing the Andaman Sea for several kilometers with powder-like light yellow sand. Lush tropical vegetation and the great environment of a tropical vacation destination with excellent service will give you a time to enjoy yourself. The sand at the beach is just right and your little ones will have a great time building sandcastles here
This rather remote beach area on Phuket island is the perfect vacation destinations if you are searching for a secluded vacation spot no villages or towns are around. Mai Khao Beach is at the northwest side of Phuket Island dominated by the JW Marriot hotel. There are also a couple of other beach resorts, luxury villas and apartments for rental and purchasing. But keep in mind in Thailand it is forbidden to buy property by a foreigner, it won’t matter what the real estate agent is saying.
The beach is ideal for swimming and snorkeling because of the steep gradient into the sea, it's also a great place to party. A Mai Khao Beach holiday doesn’t mean you have to turn into a red lobster, take enough sunscreen and drink lots of water.Casuarinas provide a backdrop of natural beauty to this gorgeous Mai Khao Beach. There are also plenty of palm trees around but not at the beach. The light sand makes a perfect daybed, the water is ideal for snorkeling and the sun will provide you with a perfect tan. Around are some coconut plantations. Plenty of island tours to other parts of Phuket Island, into the Phang Nga Bay and other exotic places are available.

Mai Khao Beach is a fantastic sun destination almost all year round and you can be sure it never get packed since the area is placed right into a Thailand National Park and they don’t allow others to built any structure at National Parks, the question is now how this Mai Khao hotels and beach resorts cone there.
The secluded Mai Khao Beach area is one of the areas where leatherback sea turtles still come to to lay their eggs in the sand.
The nesting time is from November to February. To pop up the turtle population in southern Thailand every April young hatchlings are released into the Andaman Sea.
Mai Khao Beach is really very far off from all the entertainment places in Phuket southern Thailand like Patong. Beach, Karon Beach and Phuket Town or Phuket City its the ideal place for family holiday or maybe for some great honeymoon days.

Surin Beach is at west coast of Phuket Island

Surin Beach is at west coast of Phuket Island, somehow in the middle stretched along the waterline for about one km and behind are hills.

Behind the beach runs the beach road and along the beach road are some of best hotels and resorts in Phuket Thailand. Like The Cedi Hotel, actually the Chedi Hotel is already a bit further north on Pansea Beach, but all this is within about 10 minutes walking distance.
There is also the Twin Palm Hotel at Surin Beach , in a modernistic style environment and a new Marriot Courtyard Phuket just beside.
Along the road are plenty of shops, small supermarkets and the usual Indian tailors plus naturally Thai restaurants.
Its about half distance between the airport and Phuket Town, from Surin Beach leads a very winding coastal road to Kamala Beach and Patong Beach. To Patong its about half hour.
Surin Beach is quite popular with Thai's , many enjoy the beach in the afternoon and / or have a picnic on the Pick Up back.
There are other accommodations around on Surin beach, mainly bungalows and cottages in the hills.

Actually Surin beach and Kamala Beach further south are not very inviting in terms of a attractive view. Right behind Surin and before the beach road are the usual small shops and restaurants.

At Phuket this is always in the Patong nightlife area such as Bangla Road. There are also some tattoo studios at Karon beach and Kata Beach.

Prices are reasonable but bargaining is needed, never pay the price asked in the beginning, that’s the game check with at least two tattoo parlor.

A good and reasonably priced tattoo parlor is the first pictured above, this parlor is at Karon Beach Phuket. Every Thai tattoo parlor has plenty of tattoo art work to show as samples. The tattoo artists usually work until 2 am since a Thai tattoo is very popular this days.

Kamala Beach is at the west coast of Phuket Island,

a few minutes drive from Patong over hills and along the west coast of Phuket, a quiet stretch of sand in front of a fishing village. Actually from the fishing village is not much to see anymore.

Kamala is a preferred area for retirees and longer term visitors of Phuket Thailand. To cater this market mall hotels, houses and apartment are along the main road and behind. On the south end are several up market hotel and real estate developments.

Rawai Beach and Friendship Beach

The southern side of Phuket does not have the best beaches. They are rather shallow, stony and muddy. What the area does have is great views to the offshore islands. You can take boat trips to the islands, which have some lovely beaches and snorkeling.
Rawai Beach and Friendship Beach are also known for their fabulous and reasonably priced seafood. There are some lovely beachside restaurants and a fair smattering of bars around. It is not a lively area but there are always a few people drinking in the local bars.
This area will appeal to people who enjoy boat trips to the smaller nearby islands. You can easily arrange fishing and diving trips from Chalong Pier. Throw in the great selection of local seafood restaurants and you have some people's idea of a perfect holiday base. It is not for the party crowd and it is a little remote from the rest of the island. You will probably want to rent a motorbike or car to get around.

Nai Harn

This is not really a resort town. It is a beautiful beach with just a couple of nearby hotels. Nai Harn is on the southwest corner of the island. There are a handful of restaurants and trinket shops near the beach. Other nearby attractions include two other nice little beaches, Laem Promthep viewpoint and the lagoon behind the beach.
A few hundred meters back from the beach is an area of residential properties. Nai Harn is quite a popular area for ex-pat residents and there are many local restaurants and bars serving a variety of western and Thai food.
If you want beautiful beaches, a nice hotel and a good variety of local eating options, then Nai Harn could be for you. There is little nightlife and the area is a bit remote from the rest of the island.

Kata

The next resort town south of Karon is Kata. In fact, the two towns merge to form one long stretch of urban development.
Kata is similar to Karon in that it offers plenty of bars, restaurants and amenities but without the excesses of Patong.
Kata is a more tightly knit town. While Karon is spread out loosely along its long beach, the beaches at Kata are shorter and Kata Town is a much more compact place. This has the benefit that everything is much closer together, although some people prefer the open spaces of Karon.
Kata has two lovely beaches, Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach. It is a good resort for families or couples who want plenty of things to do but are not interested in wild partying.

Karon Beach

The next resort town south of Patong is Karon Beach. It is a popular and well-developed resort town but it does not reach the excesses of Patong. The beach is a 4km straight stretch of golden sand. There are major hotels all along the center of the beach. Apart from the hotels, there is not much activity in this central area.
The shopping and nightlife areas are at the north and south ends of the beach. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants but not an excessive number. The southern end has a wider range of options. There is a small smattering of girly bars around town but not to an extent where they annoy the people who are not interested.
Karon Beach is a good compromise for people who want amenities and some nightlife but who do not want the full on action of Patong.

Patong is flashing lights, people and noise. It has nightclubs and bars. It is also the center of the girly bar action with go-gos and sex shows.
Jung Ceylon is a new major shopping mall with a multiplex cinema and 10-pin bowling. There are also many other shopping outlets.
Patong has a fabulous 3km beach in a curving bay. It is always busy with jet-skis and banana boats buzzing across the water. The amount of activity inevitably means the water is not as clean and pristine as one would hope.

PHI PHI ISLANDS

Pristine beaches, as yet unspoiled by the ravages of haphazard development are Krabi's main attractions. They continue to offer immense snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. The mjost spectacular is Hat Noppharat Thara-Ko Phi Phi National Park, better known as Phi-Phi Island, due west and south of Phuket Town. In the park are two islands of outstanding yet contrasting beauty. These islands have become the symbol of the perfect tropical island. There are also extensive mainland beaches and over 80 lesser islands. The boat ride to Phi Phi Lea and Phi Phi Don from Krabi Town's Chao Fah Bridge Pier is a pleasant journey. The perfect season for these enjoyable rides is during November to April. The trip can take between an hour and a quarter to three hours depending on the size of the boat. During the rest of the year, the Andaman Sea can be choppy and the weather can cause havoc with travel plans while at sea.
Rocking at the Reggae Bar

The Reggae Bar on Phi Phi Island is the biggest, noisiest and probably the most fun. Measuring 25 metres by 75 metres, the bar is more of an entertainment complex.

as the smaller bars on the island close, the crowd moves into the Reggae. Spirited dancing and partying carries on through the night.

Reggae's History on Phi Phi

The Reggae Bar opened in 1997 as the Harmony Bar on the main street, 30 meters from its present entrance. It made a modest beginning as a simple bar. Later, when the contract on the lease came up, Pi Owen (Mr Fat's) and Wina bought a lease on the side of the hill and made the Reggae

Snorkeling off the Beach

The all-time favourite and best way to spend a day on the Phi Phi Island is snorkelling. Especially before Christmas, when Europe is in the grips of winter.

Phi Phi Long Beach

After a morning of snorkelling with the sharks off Phi Phi Ley, the next perfect thing to do would be to hang out on the sands of Long Beach. A Quiet shack-type pancake house on the rocky end of the beach completes the picture.
The Phi Phi islands are located about 48 Km southeast from Phuket, 42 km south from Krabi Town and 40 km from Ao Nang Beach. It can take between one and a half hours to three hours to reach these islands, depending on the type of boat. Boats leave from Phuket, Ao Nang and the Chao Far Pier in Krabi Town on a daily basis.

KOH LANTA

The powdery white beaches and enchanting crystal clear waters off the west coast of Koh Lanta entice tourists to this island

70 kilometers south of Krabi.
It is on the east side of Southern Thailand's Phang Nga Bay. It stretches for 27 kilometres in the north-south direction. A sinuous mountain range covered by virgin rain forests traverse Ko Lanta and natural beauty abounds.
The name Lanta is derived from a kind of rack (Lantan), that the people of the South used, to grill the catch that they regularly found in the waters off these islands when travelling along the Andaman Coast.
Koh Lanta has a population of approximately 20,000 people, who make their living on fishing, rubber farming and prawn breeding. Today many are working in the tourism industry.  The local trade, especially in Saladan is predominantly under the control of Thai's from Chinese descent.
The island can easily be reached by 2 car ferries that now operate from 6 am to 11pm most of the days. Some paved streets exist in the two villages but most roads are still unsurfaced. To get around Ko Lanta you'll have to rent a motorbike or car and this can be done at most resort counters.
Make sure that you are familiar with the vehicle and test the front and rear brakes, the lights and horn. Drive with extra care when passing through or by villages and schools.
Swimming suits and naked upper body are fine for the beach, but not the right attire for a drive through the local villages.
There are many ways that you can get to Ko Lanta. You could fly from Bangkok to either Phuket, Krabi or Trang (which is the favoured way of many local people) and then transfer here by bus or boat.

Alternatively, you could catch the train from Bangkok to the South and transfer by bus from Trang. Similarly, you could do the same from Hat Yai to the North.

Listed below are the different modes of transport that you can opt for. Traveling in Thailand is safe, fun and easy and getting here will be part of your vacation and not a chore.

The temperature slowly rises from November until May, in January, you can expect temperatures of 30 - 33 C, in April the temperatures will climb up to 35 - 37C. Occasional downpours are not rare.

The monsoon season lasts from May through to October with temperatures slowly declining to their lowest level in November. During this period, the sea is rough and swimming is not recommended. Most of the smaller resorts on the island  close down during this time as there are very few tourists around. Transport available will be  only by minibus from Trang and Krabi via car ferries.  Divingis not possible due to rough seas and insufficient visibility during this period.
Sea View Restaurant
Built on a wooden pier over the water, "Sea View Restaurant" is a favourite place to eat out, when you are in the small village of Saladan. This restaurant on water is a gourmet’s delight. Great Thai Food and really attractive prices are the big draw. While tasting the exotic dishes, you can enjoy the lovely scenes unfolding before your eyes along the coastline and across the waters. The island opposite and the various types of boats cruising among the islands provide enchanting sights.
This family run restaurant offers a great choice of freshly caught seafood, that is prepared to your favourite style and served in the garden area along the beach. If you are staying in the center ofKhlong Dao Beach, "Lanta Sea House" might become your favourite spot for dinner. Come early and ensure seats at the tables, as the restaurant gets crowded during dinnertime.
